Glazed B&W
Porcelain Urn & Vase
FORM-
Presenting our B&W series, a breath-taking testament to delicate craftsmanship and exquisite contrast. One achieved by defying the limits of thinness, and the other, with its elegant closed form, involving meticulous attention to detail and a seamless assembly of multiple parts. They allowed me to showcase the ethereal beauty that hand-built porcelain with Black &White Sgraffito can achieve.

PATTERN-
Its composition involves folk-art-inspired, stylized floral motifs such as pots, flowers, and branches, artistically entangled in a non-repeating dance throughout the form, carved in positive space. Like the delicate unveiling of hidden beauty, the final step of skilfully scratching away the negative space adds a touch of enchantment, creating a captivating contrast that elevates the visual impact of the design.

Unglazed
Porcelain Vases
FORM-
Inspired by the harmonious interplay of nature's grace and geometric precision, these vases stands as a testament to refined elegance. With its sleek semi-circle form and intricate leafy motifs, the basil green vase exudes a sense of timeless charm. And the decision to incorporate sharp edges and geometric elements to the royal blue vase, adds a touch of uniqueness and visual interest to this particular slab-built piece. The porcelain canvas becomes a stunning playground for the process of single-color Sgraffito, creating these visual masterpieces that captures the essence of both simplicity and sophistication.
PATTERN-
The process of scratching the intricate detailing on these vases was quite meticulous, demanding utmost attention to detail, as it involved a multitude of fine lines within the Positive space. By staying true to the natural form of these naturalistic elements, these vases exude a sense of realism and organic beauty. The unglazed finish lends a distinct embossed feel to the surfaces, captivating both the eyes and the fingertips.

Glazed Porcelain
Rounded 'Goltu' Vases
FORM-
These forms being my personal favourite, hold a special place in my heart as they provide ample surface area for the chosen carving pattern to bloom and thrive. Allowing me to practice hand-building with finesse, they involved attaching 2 hemispheres in a seamless manner to allow for a complex pattern. It is a series of 3 Goltu vases.
PATTERN-
Composed of simple elements life flowers, stems and leaves, this pattern is a non-repeating entanglement of simple elements carved in Positive space. Each element is further treated with finer carving performed with a smaller tool. The final step in creating the pattern is the scratching out of the negative space to reveal a pristine milky porcelain white.
